1 year AllBoutN9.info

It has been exactly 1 year since the very first article on this website. It all started with the idea to write an easy understandable tutorial about using Nokia Ovi Suite with the N9 (wasn't officially supported) - one I couldn't find anywhere on the internet. Followed by an article about using iTunes to synchronize songs; A solution I had to come up with, since somehow my N9 and NokiaLink didn't become friends at first.

The idea

T he motivation for more articles grew when a friend joined the project and Nokia itself started to talk less and less about their magnificent device. Obviously through the abrupt switch to Microsoft's Windows Phone even Nokia Conversations turned their back on the MeeGo device. Since then it has been a fight with passion to represent the N9 as good as possible and create a platform for any kind of user and developers out there.

It hasn't always been easy to keep up with the website, especially since this has been our first internet presence and N9 my first Nokia smartphone - yes I'm a former Android and iPhone user who happily switched over (and wouldn't switch back).

The best part of such a website is the feedback of its visitors. We thank a lot for all the comments, tweets and emails you all wrote. Next to many questions we got from N9 users all over the world (and in sometimes non-understandable languages), we also received several requests from developers who shared their apps with us in exchange for an article.

Therefore we hope that we could convince the one or other person to purchase a Nokia N9 or solve a problem for them. Sorry we weren't always able to answer all the questions and requests or left the website alone from time to time... That hobby consumes a lot of time and we also have family, relationship, want to go out, do sports, work & study.

It needs all of us

A thanks also goes to the N9 community for great discussions or even teamwork on Twitter or forums (developers, N9-fans, N9apps.com, talk.maemo.org, EverythingN9.com and more...) and some new friendships which became more than just N9 talk.

Without such a community, all that wouldn't be possible. The Nokia N9, MeeGo Harmattan & Maemo has a very diverse, unique and strong community which brought up many wonderful ideas and projects.

To keep that alive it needs all of us, from all the genious hackers and app developers over bloggers, simple users up to artists - like talented photographers who get out the maximum of the N9 camera

Another big thanks goes to Jolla which keeps the spirit of MeeGo Harmattan alive in their upcoming device running Sailfish OS.

So let's keep this website, Twitter and Facebook page for a bit more alive...at least as long as we have time for it. Keep emailing, commenting, tweeting & liking! If you want to pay us a round - donations are always a wonderful surprise.

Hope to see most of you with a Jolla device in the near future!
