It's been only a few days since the public release of the Wazapp beta version and we already got two minor updates. Wazapp not only excites end-users but also many developers and graphic designer all over the Maemo/MeeGo community. On talk.maemo.org we therefore have a very lively discussion going on and get to see first customizations for the application.
Matias Perez, developer of Last.fm, FlowPlayer and Filebox added MeeGo-style user picture frames, blue chat bubbles and "fastcroll" which is an elegant way to scroll through long lists (already used in Filebox and FlowPlayer). Furthermore we got a nice looking black theme with green bubbles by Bojan Komljenovic, developer of Dropian, and message-status indicators by talk.maemo.org user rantakemisti.
We had a look at those user interface replacements and really like the enhancements a lot. Unfortunately there is no way to replace the old user interface without having root-access to the system. If you are not familiar with that, we suggest you wait until a future version of Wazapp includes this. Of course we hope that Wazapp developer Tarek Galal will add those nice graphics but have no confirmation about that.
Have a look at our screenshots:

For Pro's:
A nice package of all UI improvements can be found here. Unzip and replace UI folder located at /opt/waxmppplugin/bin/wazapp. You need to enable root user to copy files to that folder. We're not responsible if you break your Wazapp installation.
Update May 26th:
