Fira de Barcelona, Hall 1, booth 1B25 - The central point of MWC 2014. This probably applies to many Jolla fans who get to enjoy the wonderful and well visited Jolla booth.
A big wall display, the white, stylish chairs, tables and floor and the friendly Jolla girls are an eye-catcher in Hall 1. And there certainly are some people who stop by being a surprised to see for once a device not running on Android...
TOH keyboard by dirkvl |
Visitors have the possibility to try out one of many Jolla devices on display (running the latest, unpublished Sailfish OS) and give some exclusive Other Halfs a try. The stand is very well visited during the whole day - most of the time visitors need a little patience until they can get their hands on a Jolla phone. People are interested in Jolla and the overall feedback is positive - good times for the small Finnish company.
OLED TOH by kimmoli & Angry Birds edition |
One of my favourite part is the The Other Half table at the booth. Not only can visitors see the new TOH featuring Makia or AngryBirds, but also try out new prototypes which show promising ideas of Jolla covers. The Finnish company iProtoXi demonstrates a TOH prototype with an build-in sensor chip that allows one to interact with the cover (and phone) through movements and gestures. Other highlights are the Qwerty Other Half and OLED Other Half - absolutely stunning and unique to see such well working and creative free-time projects.
Sailfish OS on Android devices |
Sailfish OS isn't only shown on Jolla devices, but also on several Android-devices as well as an Nexus 7 tablet computer.
Finally it is to mention that a big group of the Jolla community is present - great people with a great passion for Jolla. Kudos to JollaUsers, Jolla France, Jolla Espagna, Jolla Italia and everyone I forgot to mention here.
