Sync your Calendar/Contacts (OSX)

Syncing the N9 with your Mac computer isn't that easy. Nokia suggests to use Cloud Services, but not every user prefers to upload private or delicate data to any public server.

The best and easiest way to do that offline, is to use iSync which is an OSX preloaded application. If you use the newer Mac OSX 10.7 Lion, you need to download and install iSync first (see bellow).

iSync won't recognize your N9 without a plugin. Nokia unfortunately didn't write one, but there's an unofficial version by Michael Zanetti.

Follow those steps:
  1. Backup (important!) your Adressbook contacts and and iCal events (use the inbuilt export functions or TimeMachine).
  2. Download and install iSync plugin for N9. OSX 10.7 Lion users also need to install iSync.
  3. Set up a bluetooth connection to your N9 (Need help? Click here)
  4. Open iSync and choose "Devices/Add Device" from the menu and select your device
  5. When the N9 is set up (see picture below), choose what you want to sync and proceed with the sync-button.
  6. Now you should have all your Adressbook contacts (incl. contact pictures) on your N9! Also your calendars are now transferred to your phone.

Could you sync your contacts and calendars successfully? Please leave your feedback.
